Polly (Washburn) Potter, born 1786, died 1863, married John Potter who was born  November 16, 1782 and died March 16, 1854.  John's father was Capt. Joseph Potter who was born May 7, 1759. Joseph Potter served in the American Revolution and crossed the Delaware with Gen. Washington and his troops. He was made a Captain of the PA Militia after the Revolution by order of Gov. Mifflin.    

 

Knight Stone, fourth child of Knight and Zilpha (Matteson) Stone was born August 8, 1817 and died Oct. 12, 1893. He married, on April 20, 1845, Fidelia Patience Clark, daughter of Benjamin Clark. Her birth date is November 27, 1817. They had twelve children. They were the parents of Cenora Stone who married Joshua Potter.

 

Isaac Hilliard Sterling, son of Isaac and Urena (Johnson)   Sterling. Came to Brooklyn, PA in 1810 when he was about eleven years old.  He died Oct. 15, 1882 at age 82. His wife was Harriet Emmons. They were the parents of James Hilliard Sterling, and great-grandparents of Lois Sterling who married Ralph Potter.

 

Fidelia Patience (Clark) Stone born November 27, 1817, married Knight Stone and was the mother of Cenora Stone who married Joshua Potter.

 

Francis Orlando Potter, born June 18, 1825 at Gibson, Susq. Co., PA, and died February 22, 1877, at North Thompson, Susq. Co., PA,  married Lucinda Gardner September 11, 1847. Francis was the grandson of Capt. Joseph Potter. 

 

Lucinda (Gardner) Potter was born  September 6, 1829 at Gardner Lake, Connecticut, and died October 18, 1903 at North Thompson, Susq. Co., PA. Her husband Francis Orlando Potter was the grandson of Capt. Joseph Potter. 

 

Rachel (White) Eastman, wife of Nathan Back Eastman born August 20, 1839, died May 1913. Their daughter was Jennie, the wife of Emerson Sterling whose daughter, Lois, married Ralph Potter.

 

Nathan Back Eastman born June 29, 1828, died September 1906. His wife was Rachel White Eastman. Their daughter, Jennie, was the wife of Emerson Sterling whose daughter, Lois, married Ralph Potter.

 

Hannah Mary (Brown) Sterling, daughter of Ezra and Rebecca C (Jackson) Brown. Born December 16, 1836 and died Nov. 18, 1919, wife of James Hilliard Sterling. They were the grandparents of Lois Sterling Potter. 

 

 

 

James Hilliard Sterling born May 25, 1827, died April 2, 1900. He married Hannah Mary Brown (see Jackson line). Both are buried at Mt. View Cemetery, Brooklyn, PA. They had seven children, six sons and a daughter. He and Hannah were the grandparents of Lois Sterling Potter. 

 

Jennie Delphia (Eastman) Sterling born July 28, 1863 and died April 1, 1944. She was the wife of Emerson Sterling. Their daughter, Lois, married Ralph Potter, the great-great-grandson of Capt. Joseph Potter.     

 

Emerson Llewellyn Sterling, born May 3, 1856 and died Sept. 25, 1941. His wife was Jennie Eastman Sterling. They were the parents of Lois Sterling Potter who married Ralph, the great-great-grandson of Capt. Potter.     

 

Joshua and Cenora (Stone) Potter were married May 11, 1887. He was born June 16, 1856 and died November 25, 1935. She was born October 6, 1859 and died at North Thompson, Susquehanna Co., PA, on December 23, 1930. Joshua was the great-grandson of our family's patriarch, Capt. Joseph Potter.

Joshua and Cenora (Stone) Potter circa 1910 with their children: Tracy Isaac born Aug. 26, 1888; Arthur F. born Dec. 8, 1889; Charles E. born Nov. 27, 1891; Edward born Aug. 2, 1893; Ralph Claude born May 20, 1896; Noel Stone born Oct. 5, 1898; Francis Joshua born Sept. 17, 1900 and Ida Lucinda born Jan 11, 1904. Joshua was the great-grandson of Capt. Joseph Potter. His children pictured here are some of Capt. Potter's great-great-grandchildren. 

Joshua and Cenora's son Ralph with his wife Lois (Sterling) Potter in 1918. Ralph is on the far right in the family picture above. Ralph was the great-great-grandson of Capt. Joseph Potter. Lois was the daughter of Jennie and Emerson Sterling.
